Girls - Hellhole Race

With twangy guitars and poppy rhythms, garage rockers Girls are really getting under my skin. The album was recorded in a "variety of bedrooms and rehearsal studios" around San Francisco giving it that lo-fi quality that I love. They have a 50's nostalgic sound to them of innocence but with less naivete and a lot more feedback.

Jaguar Love: There's Something For Everyone...Isn't There

Last night I went to go see Jaguar Love. They are a new-er band whose EP will be released shortly through Matador. It's Jay from Pretty Girls Make Graves & Johnny from Blood Brothers new band that can be describes as loud-metal-glam rock. The singer performs at level 13. He's in it...and they play hard. if you're not into the sound...you may just want to watch them perform because individually they might as well be models...and I think some of them just might be.
