Dare I say I didn't think I was a fan of The Cave Singers. Was I mental? When I got the newest album from Seattle's Cave Singers, Welcome Joy, I thought hallelujah - and was I cookoo banana pants for not ever listening to their first album? Bad Marisa. Good Marisa for listening this time and falling for their lovely, simplistic, tambourine, folk melodies. Better late than never?
Pete Quirk reminds me of David Grey's beautiful vocals, but without the shine, and a truckload of pretty trees and leaves. I kind of want to shrink them, put them in my pocket and listen to them around a fire in the middle of the woods....
