Raise Your Arm : Pela

After jumping off my flight from LA to NY I dropped my bags of, got a few watermelon mojitos and headed to the Bowery Ballroom to see Pela. I have only had 4 tracks that I got a few years ago and loved what I had always heard. Anthemic rock ala U2. What I didn't realise until I saw them live performing a whole set was that alot of their songs fell on the same note. I kept saying "Oh, I like this song," and then it turned out to be some other song ith a similar instrumentation and build. Don't get me wrong - they are good.
They are good at what they do and they had a very tight
perfomance. The singer gave it 110% and had the crowd throwing their fists up with "hey - hey -
hey's" but after 4 songs I just wanted to hear the 4 songs I knew....

I had to take a picture of their merch table. It was the first time I had seen a band just leave their goods with a note. Later into the show I passed the table again and one of the shirts was gone. Theives. (snicker).
