They say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. In the case of the Kills and The Raconteurs - they must make their inspired bands blush. While it's not straight imitation but more of inspiration - both the Kills and The Raconteurs owe their predecessors a big thank you.
For the Kills - a band of two but who rock on stage as if it was a band of five, take a page from legendary musicians PJ Harvey (who was greatly influenced by Patti Smith), and Fugazi. On stage, or should I say from afar the members resemble Kate Moss's ex Pete Doherty and Meg White.

Interestingly enough with a Meg White comparison - the Kills opened for The Raconteurs at The Greek. It's impossible to not like the Raconteurs. With power house musician and singer Jack White paired with Brendan Benson - they have the ability to corral a wide net of fans. Goths, indie shoe gazers, hipsters, dorks, country and classic rockers all flock to hear the familiar sounds of The Raconteurs. Watching the band is like watching a episode of VH1 classics. Nostalgic.
